JENSIL
- K, Na |
|
The standard cement for acid resistance made from liquid
and graded power. Jensil -K
is widely used for bonding acid proof tiles, bricks and stones in tanks.
tower and floor lining Jensil -K is resisting to all acids in any
concentration (except HF acid) solvents and brines. It does not resist
alkalies. Jensil -K resists high temperature up to 800º C.
|
|

|
Use |
|
Brick /
tile based on Jensil - K is recommended for severe corrosive
conditions as in reaction vessels, storage tanks, neutralisation pits,
drains, floors and other areas
Jensil - K is
used in different industries like Chemical Plants, Fertilizers,
Dyestuff industries, Textile Mills Explosive material manufactures,
Electro-plating plants, Refinery and Battery makers etc.

Directions
for Use |
|
This is fast setting
silicate cement based on Sodium and Potassium, Silicate which is
used in very strong Acids and high temperatures. It also resists almost
al solvents used in Chemical plants.
Jensil -K, Na is
available in two components, solution and a power . Both these are mixed
at site before use in ratio of 1:3 (Solution to Powder) and gives a very
smooth workable mortar which sets in half an hour to a solid hard mass.
It will resist almost
all acids, except Hydrofluoric Acid. It has also poor resistance to
water and dilute acids and alkalies.
Great care should be
taken in mixing the mortar since it sets very quickly. Only small
quantities must be mixed which could be used in15 to 20 minutes. If it
starts setting. the mortar will not adhere to the brick surface and will
only roll up on it, indicating its uselessness and should be discarded
and another fresh mixing should be made. Allow the brick work to
dry for 2 days after which it should be painted with 20%
Hydrochloric Acid.
Kindly consult our
Technical service Department for definite recommendations, of course
without obligation.

Storage
& Shelf Life |
|
Jensil -K, Na
powder and Syrup should be kept in a cool
and dry place in tightly closed condition, away from moisture, heat and
direct sunlight. For safety reasons, always ensure that
Jensil -K, Na Syrup and Powder are stored away from each other.

Handling
Precautions |
|
Since the
odour
emanating from the Syrup and from prepared mortar is irritating, it is
important that the workplace be provided with adequate ventilation.
Contact with skin should be avoided, since it caused irritation /
itching. It is recommended that barrier cream be applied before handling
Jensil -K, Na mortar. In case of contact with ski it is washed with soap and
plenty of water. If Jensil -K, Na Syrup splashes in to
the aye, eye is washed with plenty of water and medical advices is
sought.
