JENFURA FN

Jenfura FN is a furan resin base carbon filled three component system. It consists of Jenfura FN powder, Jenfura FN Syrup and Jenfura FN  Hardener. The advantage of this product is its versatility in terms of its strength, chemical resistance and self life. The above three components when mixed in the proper mixing ratio, forms a butter like cement mortar which is used  to fix ceramic / carbon tile / bricks for protective lining  applications.

Jenfura FN  meets the requirements of IS 4832 Part and ASTM C-395-80.

Use

Brick / tile based on Jenfura FN is recommended for severe corrosive conditions as in reaction vessels, storage tanks, neutralization pits, drains, floors and other areas.

Jenfura FN is used in different industries  like  steel, dyestuff, Metal finishing, Thermal Power Plants, Fertilizers, Petrochemicals, Food processing, Beverages, Breweries, Dairies etc.

For severe corrosive  conditions Jenfura FN  is major used for bedding and jointing of tile / bricks and for less severe  conditions, it is used as a pointing material along with silicate cement as the bedding material.

Directions for Use

On the bare Jenfura FN should not be applied. It is recommended that a suitable membrane is provided on the substrate and over this acid proof  brick/ tile lining is done using  Jenfura FN.

For preparing the mortar Jenfura FN  syrup is taken in a clean Vessel and proportionate quantity of Jenfura FN Activator is added and mixed thoroughly. Then pre-weighed quantity of Jenfura FN  powder is added and mixed thoroughly till a lump free, butter like consistency mortar is obtained.

Mixing ratio of powder can be slightly changed (+/- 10%) to suit the site conditions. The mixing ratio between the syrup and Activator  should not be changed.

Since the pot life of the mortar is short, only small quantity of mortar which can be used within the workable time is mixed. The prepared mortar is placed on the back and on the sides of carbon / Acid proof brick and pressed firmly over the suitable membrane so that bedding is uniform.

In the case of pointing  situations, the mortar is filled to the entire depth up to which the jointing material is racked out. The surplus material is removed from the joint carefully  without smearing onto the tile surface.

When Jenfura FN is used pointing tiles bedded with Cement JENSIL-K mortar the joints should be previously care with  20 to 25 percent Hydrochloric acid or 30 to 40 percent sulphuric acid dried.

After curing for period of 7 days at an ambient temperature the lining can be put into operation.

Chemical Resistance

Jenfura FN, at room temperature, has resistance to wide range of acids including Hydrochloric acid,  Alkalies  solvents including halogenated types, and salt solutions except those of the oxidizing type. It is not recommended for services to oxidizing chemicals like Chronic acid,  Nitric Acid etc. For details of chemical resistance to specific conditions, please contact us.

Packing

Jenfura FN  Powder : 40 Kg bag
Jenfura FN  Syrup : 40  Kg drum
Jenfura FN  Activator : 1/5  Kg plastic container

Transportation

During transport containers must be protected from contact with water and should not be exposed directly to sunlight. Syrup and Activator  shall always be kept apart to void exothermic reaction between the two.

Storage & Shelf Life

Jenfura FN  powder, Syrup and activator  should  be kept in a cool and dry place in tightly closed condition, away from moisture, heat and direct sunlight. For safety  reasons  always ensure that  Jenfura FN Syrup and Activator  are stored away from each other.

Shelf life

: Shelf life at 20 Deg. C at  ambient temp.
Powder 10 Months 10 Months
Syrup 10 Months 10 Months
Activator 12 Months 12 Months

In case if the ambient temperature is more than 30-35 Deg. C, the shelf life of the above materials will get  reduced  accordingly.

Handling Precautions

Since the odour emanating from the Syrup and from prepared mortar is irritating, it is important that the workplace be provided with adequate ventilation. Contact with skin should be avoided, since  it causes irritation / itching. It is recommended that barrier cream be applied before handling Jenfura FN mortar in case of contact with skin it is washed with soap and plenty of water. If Jenfura FN Syrup / Activator  splashes in to the aye, eye is washed with plenty of water and medical advices is sought.
